Michigan Foundation rewards scholarship
As we approach another year end, and a good year at 707, we ask you to consider a gift to the Phi Gamma Delta of Michigan Foundation. This Foundation was formed by the Alpha Phi Chapter in 1960, was updated in 2001, and is formally recognized by the IRS as a 501c3 charitable organization. All contributions are fully tax deductible and will be acknowledged in writing for tax purposes.
This past year the Foundation awarded 47 scholarships/awards (slightly better than half of the existing membership of 86) in a total amount of $17,125. No other chapter of Phi Gamma Delta or any other fraternity in the United States has a scholastic awards program that matches the scope of our Foundation ’ s scholarship program, thanks to all of our donors over the years. |

Among these special awards are two that bear the names of the men in whose honor the award was created: the Flip Connell Award and (new this year) the Robert Knutson Award. Flip’s award, in recognition of his long service through the alumni |

board, honors superior academic achievement and all around good citizenship by an undergraduate brother.
Bob’s award is in recognition of his major financial and advisory contributions in support of the chapter over the past five decades. In addition, as an undergraduate, Bob was Executive Vice President of the Interfraternity Council and brought significant positive changes to the fraternity system during his term in office.
The Robert Knutson Award will be conferred each year upon the undergraduate with a superior academic record who has done the most to improve the effectiveness and impact of the Michigan fraternity system and its image on campus. |

We sincerely appreciate every donation because each contribution represents giving back to the organization and the brotherhood that provided the direction and the friendships that have made a difference in our lives. |
