Winterfest
On February 11, 2017, Alpha Sigma Phi and Pi Kappa Alpha fraternities hosted another year of outdoor broomball in Pi Kappa Alpha's backyard. Winterfest is an event supporting the Autism Alliance of Michigan, a non-profit dedicated to raising awareness and providing resources to people with autism and their families.
The first round of the bracket Fiji faced off against our neighbors, PIKE, for the second year in a row, and sent them home early, yet again, in a 1-0 shootout victory. Advancing to the next round, our opponent was Delta Tau Delta. Against Delta Tau Delta, FIJI pulled off a 1-0 win to get to the next round of the playoffs. The men of FIJI were looking forward to winning the tournament for the third year in a row, however they fell short 0-1 in the semi-finals to Sigma Phi Epsilon in a hard-fought battle. The Black Diamonds fought to the very end, but unfortunately it was not enough to get to the championship.

Upcoming Islander (April 6-8th)
Everyone's looking forward to this year's upcoming Islander Date Party as well as the Open Party, which pursues two days after. Last year's Islander was one for the books, as many might say it was the most fun event of the year. The entire Commons and Board Room was decked out with Hawaiian, Tropical and Tiki-esque themes.
This year we hope, and know, the event will have similar excitement and reviews as last year's Islander. Filling the entire main floor with many of our brothers and friends is always an awesome time, so we are all very excited for the upcoming event.
