Pig Dinner is changed to September 6, 2013

The classes of the 80s had already started plans to gather that weekend for the Notre Dame game, and to remember Brother, Curt Frillmann '89, who passed ad astra this year. We decided it would make more sense to change Pig Dinner to coincide with this reunion already underway. Unfortunately, our time at 707 will be limited to Friday night, because the Undergrads had already planned a full day of their festivities Saturday leading up to the big game with Notre Dame that night.

We have made arrangements with the Clarion Hotel to be the headquarters hotel for our weekend. Unfortunately, we will not have access to any tickets for the football game. You are on your own to find them.

Our plan is to have Pig Dinner Friday night at 707. Since wives are traditionally not included in our Pig Dinner event, we are planning a wives dinner at the Clarion for them. The Class of '89 is planning a memorial tribute to Curt Frillmann at the dinner in addition to our traditional activities. For those wanting to continue to party, there will be a post party at Rick's American Café, near campus (611 Church, after 10 pm).

Saturday will then evolve into a day of tailgating, reunion, and football. Tailgating will likely be several places, and mostly informal. Tailgate parties are planned at the Clarion (at HQ hotel), Dominick's (local bistro on campus, 812 Monroe, outdoor balcony on the second floor, from 12 pm - 5 pm), and individual Brothers (near stadium). We'll put together a more comprehensive tailgate plan later as we get the details. You are welcome to come to one or more of these.

Saturday night will be the big game at 8 pm. Those Brothers lucky enough to get tickets will be at the Big House. The others will have a choice of game watching parties. One will be at the Clarion (reserved for Fijis), and the other will be at Charley's Restaurant on South U.

On Sunday morning, certain brothers are looking into a golf outing. There may also be some opportunities to tour the campus. More will come as these flesh out.

This is going to be a busy weekend. Housing will be at a premium, so you need to
make your room reservations now. We have blocked a limited number of rooms at the Clarion Hotel, on Jackson Rd, in Ann Arbor. You need to make your reservations directly with them by calling 734-655-4444. The rooms are being held under "Fiji Pig Dinner", and cannot be held past July.
Finally, you need to let us know what you are planning.  Please fill out our survey sheet that you have been sent. If you need me to send you another one, let me know. When you have filled it out, save it. Just click the email address on this letter (
fijiman@metalmasters.com ), and attach your completed survey sheet. Return by June 30th .
