Hailing from Venice Beach, CA it may be a bit shocking to discover I chose the icy grips of Ann Arbor to spend my college days. My name is Joe Crowley, I'm a freshman pledge in Phi Gamma Delta at the University of Michigan. Growing up in Southern California I spent most of my upbringing outdoors; I surfed regularly, hiked avidly in the Santa Monica Mountains, and camped in almost every national park in the state. These adventures would spark my fascination with environmental science and have led me to pursue a degree in it through Michigan's Program in the Environment. Accompanying me often on my outdoor adventures were my 6 six siblings or a posse of friends from my tightly-knit, all boys high school, which made me fear who would replace these relationships in college… and what would fill the time previously spent out and about in our year round, moderate weather? Coming to FIJI solved both of these conundrums for me. Not only did a house full of engaging, thoughtful brothers greet me during welcome week and rush but my pledge class also immediately became people on which I could depend. When I'm not at the chapter house planning social and philanthropic events I can be found interning for the Michigan Arboretum giving tours to patients at children's hospital. I can't wait to reap the full benefits of being a brother and can't wait to give back to the community that has already given me so much.

I'm Michael McGugan from Homer Glen, Illinois. I came to Michigan because the school has a great mix of a social life and academics. I chose to become a member of Fiji because Fiji is all about brotherhood and I want to surround myself with great guys who I'll love spending my next four years with.

My name is
Alexander Wood and I'm from Ann Arbor, Michigan. I'm thrilled to be a wolverine and thus far FIJI is playing a big part in giving me a wonderful college experience. From the first time I walked into FIJI during welcome week, the friendships I saw between brothers and their genuine interest in who I am has made FIJI stand out to me as a fraternity where the sense of brotherhood is unparalleled. I was thrilled to accept my bid and I look forward to the next four years. Academically I plan on majoring in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE), with a hopeful business minor in hopes of working in environmental policy and advocacy after graduation. Outside of FIJI I am member of the Michigan Community Scholars Program (MCSP), which is a learning community focused on social justice and volunteering, and am also part of KnowTomorrow, which is a climate action advocacy group on campus.

My name is
Ryan Buckingham and I'm a freshman from Glenview, IL, a northern suburb of Chicago. I'm hoping to get into the business school and major in business. Aside from Greek life, I participate in some business clubs here at the University of Michigan. I joined FIJI because it is a great group of guys and I believe in the values it promotes.
